Collective nouns are nouns that define as a group of things or people, but is used as a singular noun.

Rule #1: When using two singular nouns and connecting them with an "and", then the verb must be plural
Example: Tina and Sally are both in sixth grade. When using "or, nor" to connect two singular nouns, the verb

Rule #3: If a indefinite pronoun is used as a subject, the verb must be singular. Exceptions can come with this rule like using both,few, these,and others.
Example: I was proud of my family for being helpful. Example for Rule #3 exception: Both are enjoying their time at the zoo. Rule #4: Collective nouns must have singular verbs.
